Summer’s coming and instead of focusing on saving money, they’re going to enjoy their summer and spend their hard-earned dollars.

The BMO Summer Spending Survey finds that while 61% are more concerned about saving money than they were in 2013, 77% will spend about the same or more than they did last year.

On average, Canadians plan on spending more than $6,300 on travel and entertainment.

The amount they plan to spend varies by region.

Atlantic Canadians will spend the least, averaging about $4,150 over the summer. And Albertans will spend nearly double that amount ($8,124).

I guess maybe they’ll try to save next year.
